Why we chose beeswax versus soy or paraffin wax?

Every year millions of candles are used for many purposes, (i.e., to light a room, garnish birthday cakes, aromatherapy, on alters for devotion, and in urgency during power outages. Candles are also used for magical purposes because candles are related directly to magical energies and absorb personal power.

An unlit candle represents the elements of the earth. Overtime candles release energy when burned. This change occurs when fire touches the wick, the candle melts, and a pool is formed, representing the element and water. The smoke represents the element of air.

Today candle magic is the most common of practiced folk magic. Ideally, beeswax is best for magic purposes but any candle will work. We chose beeswax because it's completely natural and comes directly from the honeycomb of the honeybee.  Honeybees consume honey and pollen to produce the wax. It takes about eight pounds of honey to produce just one pound of beeswax.

Beeswax has antibacterial properties, reducing the risk of contamination. It also has anti-fungal properties, preventing the growth of yeast and fungi. It's edible and non-toxic. And it's better when burned. Beeswax candles emit a bright, beautiful light within the same spectrum as the sun. In comparison, Beeswax also burns cleaner as they remove negative ions from the air. It helps to purify the air and has the aroma of honey and flower nectar.

Beeswax contains a natural, powerful protective substance called propolis, which shields beeswax from ever going bad. Made by the bees by combining tree resin with wax flakes and pollen, propolis is used to used fix and strengthen the beehive while protecting the hive with an antiseptic barrier – the name propolis comes from the Greek meaning “defense of the city.”  -More power to the bees
